Immortallus did what he did every weekend start. He watched over the earth his gaze going out and taking in the panoramic view as his mind drifted. The vast satellite only made to fuel his troubled thoughts. In all his hundreds of years, he was still fighting for the protection of the mortals. In all his years, he had earned scars and memories that would leave normal men crippled for the rest of their lives, and yet he still had made no noticeable dent in the crime rate, the evil of the world, or the demons that plagued it. "Is this a fools adventure?"

EX-37 joined him, looking down with him. "Maybe, but imagine how much worse it would be down there if we did nothing!"

"As I recall, you are one of them." Immortallus chuckled. "I didn't think anyone was awake. How may I help you Ex." He turned from the window and faced the comrade superhero.

"Actually, I don't sleep but four hours a day. I understand that normal humans need eight hours? Anyway, I was going to do some training in the training room, when I saw you over here. but now that you mention it, I had heard that some guy named C'celus was down there somewhere looking for some kind of supposed monster. going to look into that later. Interested in joining me?"

"In the training or the monster, younglin', I am up for either." He said with a wink and a slight nod as he loosened up some muscles. "It'll help get my mind off the short years that have passed recently."

EX-37 liked that about Immortallus. in the year he had been working with the immortal man he had always been willing to help him push his limits. and he was knowledgeable, so he was always interesting to talk to. "Both, but we'll see if any other names pop up on the Super Search by the time we leave."

"Well as long as this monster isn't just another prehistoric beast that escaped adaptations genocide, this might be interesting." Strutting out for docking bay. "Shall we go then? I'll drive."

"I suppose training can wait till later. anyway, the monster can wait, we don't know where it is. just this guy named C'celus. he's currently in Mexico somewhere. I can pin point better when we get closer."

"Ah possibly El Chupacabra, a well known legend around those parts as the goat eater. Many of which are contradicting. Some speak of a dog like marsupial, while others describe the being as a demon that stands on two legs...while others still describe it as a sasquatch. I've yet to see something like it myself but it is quite possible one of the old ape men species survived this long." He said in a matter of fact tone as they came up to the six man reentry ship known as the Avalon. "Interesting fun fact. The Chupacabra legend started in Puerto Rico and not Mexico in 1995. The cryptid started its infamy sucking on sheep not goats and a few movies spawned off of its legend. All in all I doubt this will be too much of a hassle if it is one of those. Now the other cryptids of that area...those are the ones you should watch out for. Giant snakes, Quetzalcoatl, and another giant bird species, called Garuda."

"that's really cool and all, but we aren't looking for a monster today, just a man."

"I see...does C'celus have a cell phone on him?" He asked starting the pre-flight checklists. Setting up the navigation panel, the engines roared to life. "It'd make things too easy for us I am sure."

"Actually, I have been trying to pinpoint him that way, and have not met success... if he has one its something pretty high tech. I've just been meeting success through chatter from other people cell phones about him. he's pretty outlandish. has an armored right arm and a sword. but to each their own I guess." EX-37 patted his very large box that was likely filled with guns, then looked at the quarterstaff he had brought with him.

Immortallus looked around the cockpit and chuckled. "Well darn, I forgot mine. Oh well, good thing I can fight without them." He smiled and pushed the throttle to full. The ship kicked as it made the re-entry.

C'celus felt disoriented, confused. Everyone was so strange, they did not have magic that he could feel, they could not teleport, and the immortal beast was no where to be seen. That was a week ago. Only one thing mattered: the test his father put before him. Nothing would stop him, nothing would stand in his way. not even the strange projectile weapons these peoples used... The burning wound at his side from where one of the 'bullets' as they called them had grazed him, having hit one of his ribs on its way. He had been forced to kill a the man, and the people were frightened of him now, scared of what he might do. They had run. some of them pulled out small devices and started talking to them in panicked voices. He knew what these people were saying, but did not understand what he had done wrong. Did the man have an important status? No matter, these worthless people do not matter, they are weak and distracting me from my goal. He was traveling through the desert heat, he was wounded, but he had a mission to become strong, and nothing would stop him...

"Hey Ex...whats that look like down there to you?" As hey skimmed at the minimal altitude they were allowed to reach, he could make out a group of people. The people looked like they were closing in on someone, but he couldn't be quite sure.
