Steampunk... but what sets it apart is that there are clockwork atomatons, and a war just ended (maybe up to 5 years from the start?) that used ever deadlier and improved Combat Clockwork Creations. those who know the ins and outs of Clockwork (The Way of Gears) are called Tinkerers.
now, this is the important bit: something called a Clockwork Daemon exists that can do something... strange to clockwork and some steam powered devices; they mutate and somehow become semi-organic. they move of their own volition and attack humans indesciminately. these things are called Clockwork Mutants. and the best ones at hunting them? Those who have prosthetics from the war... why? because one by one they have found themselves affected; their prosthetics tainted begin warpingm and only there willpower stops its influence from affecting them, both mentally and physically
