Manurbem: City of power

Altreon slithered down the cobble stone street, his mind in the clouds as moved past people. Paying attention was not one of his strong suits and today was especially so with the up coming museum of lost technology.

In the first three years of its discovery they found flight and now the art had flourished into many facets of use. Though many clung to old ways, it was almost impossible not to use it in the cities anymore. The sky scrapers with floors unreachable by stairs. Magical floating platforms for airships and the unveiling of Manurbem's governing rulers the Oligarchy of Eis Licet King's, a group of human kings from the five ruling magical families, flag ship the Semper Fortis, a massive airship capable of housing thousands of troops and crew as well a few squadrons of smaller one or two manned interceptor type air ships.

Doki stood resolutely at the entrance to the museum of lost technology, chewing idly on a piece of dried mutton. Working as security for this museum before it opened wasn't a bad job. The pay was fair and the hours reasonable. If the dwarf had anything to complain about, it would be how busy the work kept him. Doki spat out a piece of gristle as he thought this, and grabbed another passerby by the collar, shouting:

"Doki Doki... FACE SMASHER!!"

The man's nose crumpled with a sickly cracking sound under the unexpected force of a dwarf's helmeted forehead. Satisfied that yet another intruder had been taken care of, Doki tossed the now limp man to the side, and went back to chewing on his mutton. The manager seemed to be trying to say something to him, but he ignored it. Surely it couldn't be as important as his sacred duty of guarding this entrance.
Mildly curious, despite his job taking precedence, Doki watched out of the corner of his eye as the frazzled man departed and came back with two overly-large men in tow, probably Enochs by the look of them. The manger was saying something to them in an angry tone and pointing at Doki. This was obviously a test, the dwarf thought, tucking away his mutton for later. The manager wants to make sure I don't let anyone through, no matter how intimidating they are.
No sooner had he finished securing his mutton than the dwarf went from standing idly to rocketing horizontally through the air at top speed.

"GIGA... DWARF... BREAKER!!"

Doki shouted, as his helmet connected with one of the Enoch's stomach. In apparent slow motion, spittle flew out of the large man's mouth and he collapsed with a soft grunt. Doki seemed to be attracting quite a bit of attention by now, and a small crowd had gathered around him. No matter, he thought, balling his rough hands into fists, the job comes first.

Waku's journeys had lead him once again to the city. And once again he was broke, apparently fighting all the strong looking people you could find only got you as much as their pocket change. So he had to find a job, as he walked down the cobbles he saw a commotion by the Museum of Lost Technology. Waku didn't really have any interest in museums, as they weren't edged and couldn't be easily swung at others. There were sometimes swords in them, but last time he got thrown out because he broke the glass to get at one. However it looked like a fight was going on up there, and Waku really liked fights. He decided to go see what the fuss was about.

Altreon went wide eyed at the spectacle he saw. "Wow...I was sure the museum was opening today." He took out a notebook and began jotting down notes. He slithered and wrote as he went closer to the dwarf without paying attention. "Excuse me master dwarf....why are you hurting these men so needlessly?" As with most animal faces, Altreon's emotion was impassible

Doki ducked under the large man's wide swing, and brought his relatively small fist into direct contact with his opponent's groin. As the Enoch doubled over in pain, the Dwarf kicked out his knee, causing him to double over and his face to crash into Doki's helmet. Wiping the mess on top of his head away, he became aware that a furry spectator was attempting to talk to him. However, his attention was quickly distracted by what he saw before him as the Enoch's body crumpled to the ground. Another Dwarf, with black hair and green eyes, watching him from the crowd. Doki's reaction was that of a predator encountering another predator. He dropped into a defensive stance, and growled:

"You... Are you trying to get into the museum too?"

Waku looked at the dwarf in the center of the row. "I don't have interest in any museum, but you look strong, you wanna- Waku stopped to trip an Enoch that was rushing towards the source of the excitement- fight?"

Altreon sighed and slithered past the brutes for the steps to the museum. "Hello is there anyone in there with more intelligence than a grapefruit?" He was starting to lose faith in getting into the museum today.

Tovel stumbled out of the museum one hand on his head. "Last time I do that again..." looking around at the comotion and the strange creature coming at the steps toward him he realizes that he was not where he was a moment ago... "What the fook! How did I get here!"

*in the shadows of a near by ally a man with red eyes looks on with mild intrest as he sizes up the museum. the man sighs and gets up and reaches into his coat and palms a single 00 steel shot and rolled it between his fingers for a moment before holding his arm out streched and aimed at a car parked on the street near the museum and with a deep breath he flicks the shot and it screams away from his hand so fast it breaks the sound barrier and impacts the car with the force of a tank shell* "...now what will they do..."

A piece of shrapnel from the exploding locomotive machine screamed at Tovel's face, but vanished before making contact. he started down the stairs off to the side, dropping something before sliding behind a pillar and hoping that not too many people noticed him. the item on the ground could be seen as the very shrapnel that was flying at him moments ago.

*the man in the shadows notices that some how one of the people infront of the museum was able to stop a piece of flying shrapnel, the man smiles and takes out a 12in steel rod and holds it in his left hand as if it was an arrow in a bow. he pulls back and then releases it and it flys outward as if fired from a railgun aimed at the pillar the man who stoped the shrapnel was hideing behind.* "...this may be fun after all..." *the man in the shadows then draws a 5 once slug from his coat and holds it in his hand feeling the weight, the mass, the power yet to be unleashed. he then grips the slug tightly as if focusing on it, as if pouring energy into it. after a few moments the air seems to ripple and boil and a low hum vibrates the air with some unseen power as the man holds his arm out pointing it towards the front of the museum, at the people there. but he just stands there holding the slug pointing at the museum. it is almost like he is waiting for something to happen. the energy rippleing from the mans fist keeps increaseing and grows so strong it can be faintly seen in the shadows where he hides. slight ripples in the air that seem to hang there as if a sign telling of some comeing danger, the low hum of the energy vibrates through the air and ground as if calling out in a hushed voice, as if trying to give warning to those in the path of danger, as if trying to send them a message of the comeing ruination looming just out of sight. in a hush wishper, so low it could mistaken for the wind, the man speaks somber words as if talking to some person who can not be seen* "...may god have mercy on your souls...because i will not..."

the pillar practically shatters around Tovel who proclaims: "Holy $(-)!T".
he quickly begins running up another pillar and taking refuge on the top of the museum.
"I am here less than a minute and already people are trying to kill me. Who did I piss off this time?"

Seemingly unmindful of the explosions and excitement going on around him, Doki pulls the double-handed axe off of his back and squares off against the other Dwarf. A piece of shrapnel bounces off his helmet and spins into the crowd, causing an onlooker to fall with a muffled scream.

"Let's do it, lad!" he shouts, as another piece of flaming metal starts a small fire in his beard.

*the man in the shadows smiles a cold smile. with on last pulse of energy that lights the ally up like a falling star the man unleashes the 5 once slug stright at the front of the museum. the slug flies with such force it tears at the ground and splits the air as it roars forward.* "...that should stir up some fun..." * the man says as he walks out of the nolonger dark ally and slowly walks towards the soon to be destroyed musem*

"Oh shit, screw this." Altreon took the first flight or fight emotion that came to him...flight. Without a second guess he had scaled to the top of the museum by way of a pillar.
