"Finally it's taken me forever to get here." Said a grey haired gunner as he walked to the final antechamber to the cave. "Ain't no way anyone has gotten this far yet, so I have this bastard all to myself." He grinned as he got closer. The gunshots resounded. "You gotta be kidding me there's no way. It's like midnight zulu time." He ran the last dozen of yards to the mouth of the hallway leading to a ledge on the side of the arena of the final boss. "Shit...bots" Yes bots, those annoying gamers that only used bots to gain epic gear, it was easy to tell by the way they wouldn't dodge boss attacks and were glitching as they all fired in a sync. "Well let's see if these are the badly programmed ones." Clicking his wrist band to life he suddenly challenged all the bots in the arena. "Yep...and they're low level. This won't take too long and I'll report them afterwords." The bots took a second to register the challenge before they changed focus from the boss to Zerok. A fury storm of lead suddenly came his way as he took a few steps back then leapt high from the ledge, pistols drawn.
His descent was slow at first as he covered up his face to avoid the random head shot. When he reached terminal velocity he whipped his pistols forward as he began taking manual aim and popping head shots left and right without a hitch. Unlike the noobs, the common gunner would use manual aim over automatic. It took out the chance of a head shot and made it almost guaranteed. He landed on top of a bot and after dealing the falling damage he put the barrel to his head and pulled the trigger. As the bot digitized into nothing, Zerok leapt over and continued to rampage on the bots around him. As he slid to a halt another dozen of bots digitized. He struck a pose and smiled evilly. "It's a bad day to be my enemy."

Zerok dashed around the chamber of the cave dodging bullets left and right. The boss creature, Girdom let loose an awesome plasma beam from his mouth, engulfing a large number of the bots. As the beam reached Zerok, the gunner leapt backwards over the beam and took out the few remaining bots. "Now for the important part."
Girdom was a gigantic cybernetic bio-engineered marvel. At first glance it looked like an enormous Qilin-like creature. Its lion head looked fierce and it had taken countless bots that day, but it wouldn't be taking a real gamer.
Zerok leapt high into the air and landed on Girdom's horn. He pelted it straight in the face with a firestorm of bullets. As the creature began to flail, Zerok back flipped off the things horns and he ran around to its back. The beast was slow enough turning that Zerok could pull out his Gauss machine gun. Pulling back the mechanism he waited for the face to become available before he let loose high velocity, high caliber rounds. The creature reeled in pain as massive damage was delivered to its head.

Samuel had run very quickly through trials and tribulations in an attempt to get to the end before Zerok. they had an unspoken rivalry. He arrived in the room to find the Boss's HP meter at about halfway and Zerok firing away at the creature. He rushed up to the boss and began slicing away, his blade returning to its sheathe after every attack. this would be a race of who got the final hit in...

Zerok ran a circle around the beast as a plasma blast followed him in the wake. He patted Samuel on the shoulder as the beam stopped right before hitting him. The barrel began charging with energy as he ran forward towards the Qilin. Its life was starting to get low as he leapt up and landed on the behemoths head. He winked at the thing and let the empowered guass round go. The machina beast fell to the ground and the explosion sent Zerok back, making him slide back as he landed. "Hey, I loosened the jar for you. Why don't you finish the job, Sammy." He called out to Samuel

Taking that as his cue, Samuel utilized his highest MP costing attack. His blade was engulfed by blue flames as he rose it high over his head and brought it down. it was his only slow attack, but was also his most powerful single hit attack (emphasis on single-hit). it was the finishing strike, the enemy digitizing and evaporating, the digital bits flying into both Samuel and Zerok evenly, as though they had been considered a party. "looks like you beat me to it again, Zerok. Nice putting me into a party with you last second."

"Well if I accidentally killed it, you wouldn't have gotten the xp u needed to catch up. I'm already one fifty-one, and well on the way to one fifty-two, you seem to be slipping behind me." He grinned as he took what he needed from the qilin. "I only came for this any way." He said holding up some materials for firearms. "You can take the fangs if you want, I have no need for them, and you could use the help." He said chuckling.

Knowing he was being insulted, but not caring, took what Zerok did not take, and slipped it into his inventory, making it vanish from the world to all casual appearance. He would continue his never-ending mission, one way or another, falling behind Zerok was not something that bothered him, but he did see it as a challenge to overtake him.

"Oh by the way there were about thirty bots here before I took on the Qilin. Seems they're becoming more numerous than usual." He tapped on his wrist datalink and began filling out the report. "Seems some player is getting more ballsy."

"Demons," said Samuel. one sometimes didn't know whether to think he was a very complex NPC or just a PC that really got into his role...

"Yea sure call 'em demons, but point is it's spotty programming, easy experience, and well anyone with half a brain would realize it's easier to do the work yourself." He said smiling as he looked at how far his meter had gone up. "It was a no problem taking these guys out, level fifties, and oh my god slow on the draw as well as glitchy." He said as the the qilin began digitizing. "I'm off to the next town I need to upgrade the Automatic Gauss rifle."

"Dude, seriously?" Zerok scoffed. "That's why you're trailing behind. You need to be out there power leveling. There's nothing those npc's can tell you that you won't learn on your own. God knows you won't need to see them again until level one sixty."

"Sometimes you feel like a program, man. I swear." Zerok lifted his gauss over his shoulder over his shoulder and holstered his guns. "I'll send you a message when I'm on my next run if you wanna try and beat me to that as well." He said with a wink as he began to walk off.

When Zerok was gone, Samuel looked around. walking to the wall. he walked through it, into treasure room behind, and the secret boss behind. "Noob. elders sometimes know things like this."
